Things I dont need !

I got buzzed today.
I had my head shaved. There is so little that you can control with cancer...so dang it, I am going to control this.

A special friend offered to do it for me.

I did not look as she shaved my head. I just watched as the piles of hair fell to the floor. She put my wig on and helped me trim it up.
I have a small head....who knew ?
Then I took a look. I like my wig, it looks like me !
I love her for making this easy for me. (thank you thank you thank you - you know who you are).

I told her I would look my semi naked head later tonight.
I did not cry or break down...I am proud of myself for being strong.
It felt good to get this done - and to get past it.

Hubby and I went out to eat at our favorite Mexican place.
No one pointed at me and said..."look at her wig".
No strange looks or second glances.
I have "wedding hair" - you know the look.
Your hair looks perfect...like you had it styled for your wedding day.
When I got home - I took off the wig.

I look like my nephew Spencer did when he was a little boy sporting his buzz.
It made me smile.

This small tiny bit of hair will fall out to..and I will be completely bald. But at least I wont have to watch the clumps of hair fall out everytime I take a shower.

My shopping list has gotten shorter !

Blow dryer
straightener
curling iron
hair spray
various hair products
brush
comb
hair cuts
highlights
hair color

Think of the money I will save !
Except I love shopping for hats and scarves.
